New Mexico Fencing Foundation Homeschool Class/Club

New Mexico Fencing Foundation is offering a homeschool fencing class/club for ages 7 and up. Classes are on Mondays from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. Classes are $75.00 per month, that includes 4 – one and a half hour classes and open fencing on Saturday mornings from 9:00am to noon. No contract required. Equipment is provided, although buying your own mask is encouraged. Opportunities for fencing on all levels of competition in and out of state. Come have a blast getting your point across. Walk-in are welcome but if possible please let the coach know your coming.

Martial Arts Class for Homeschoolers

Raven, homeschool parent and founder of Spirit Warriors Martial Arts,
is now teaching adult martial arts classes at The Center in Tesuque.
If there is enough interest, he will offer a class for homeschool
students there as well.

Martial Arts help young people discover their inner strengths,
develop discipline, focus and concentration. Strength, endurance,
balance, coordination, flexibility and other aspects of athleticism
are all improved in a challenging and fun environment.

Please let us know if you are intersted and the age and number of
students you have. Classes will be held during the day. Cost will be
approximately $40 per month.

Raven will have day, time and actual cost when he sees the numbers
and ages that are interested.

Parents are encouraged to participate with their children as this
creates a great opportunity to learn and share together.

Rock Climbing for Home Scholars

Experiential learning for ages 5 and up!

The program will implement leadership and problem-solving skills.

It will also involve team work and lots of climbing fun.

Students will learn basic rock climbing skills and safety skills.

We will play games to instill confidence in each student. .

The instructor for this program is a experienced and professional
rock climbing guide who has worked with kids for many years.

Roots and Shoots January Meeting

Well we are set to go with Roots and Shoots. Our first official meeting will be Wednesday the 23rd at 2:00PM at the main library in the Pic Room. Please bring $5 per family to cover group costs. All ages are welcome and we will be brainstorming ideas for projects and the direction of the group.

4H January Meeting

We are now officially signed up as a $h group under the group name Howling Coyotes. For those of you wondering we did not have a meeting today as the paper work has to be filed and completed before we are official. Soooo, We have scheduled the first official meeting for Wednesday the 30th of January in the Large Annex 4H room (next to the rodeo grounds) . We will be holding monthly meeting on the last wednesday of each month at 2:00 in the large annex room.

The group will have a Clover Buds group for ages 5-9 and regular 4H for the older kids. Children need to be of age by Jan 1 of that year to participate. You need to fill out your paper work through the group leaders. If anyone has any questions please feel free to email me at shelby at modernorganicmama dot com.

Sorry due to an over sight on my part Roots and Shoots will be rescheduled. I am planning on the same time same place on the 23rd. Watch for updates and emails to come.

4H Meeting Scheduled

I have scheduled our first official 4H meeting for Wednesday the 16th at 2:00. The place is still to be decided. This will be a planning and informational meeting. We would like to here want you would like to see our group do. Please bring your ideas. There is a $1 fee for insurance required by 4H. Of course parents and children are welcome. I will post the meeting place in a comment to this posting as soon as it is decided.

Roots and Shoots Meeting Scheduled

I have scheduled our first official Roots and Shoots Meeting at the Main Library in Santa Fe. We are scheduled for 2:00 in the Pick Room. Please bring $5 per family to join. We will be planning group activities for the beginning of the year as well as basic group business. We are currently planning on holding regular meetings every 2nd Wednesday of the month at 2:00 P.M. Other activities may fall on other days as planned by the group. Parents and children are welcome at all meetings.
